The Feed a Family Project was aimed at feeding 100 less fortunate families during the month of Ramadhan. JAOR members took to social media as the main strategy for raising funds and reaching out to donors. Target amount to raise was 500,000 for the roll out of the programme , on the 22nd of April 2020 was the deadline for the project to get rolling , through donations JAOR was able to raise 398,200ksh ,not meeting the target , therefore members agreed to divide the project into two phases, the first phase was done on the 23rd and 25th of April 2020, with families in Kibra and Kitengela as beneficiaries. Phase two of the Feed a Family project then kicked off on 4th of May, the success of phase two was incredible, members were vigorous with fund raising and their efforts didn’t go unnoticed ,people responded and donated in a big way making us add the number of beneficiaries from 100 families to 200 families with packages being distributed in South B, Ngara, Eastleigh, Lungalunga and Narok. Among the beneficiaries were Widows, Reverts , Orphans and vulnerable families with little to nothing. Our target being 200 families JAOR was able to feed 210 families surpassing our target and making the Feed a Family Project a huge success . The JAOR members made sure every package was delivered and collaborated with chapchapGo for easier distribution of the packages. The Feed a Family Project is not just about donating but making a difference and JAOR together with our donors made a big difference to our beneficiaries .
