The paint and repair project was aimed at repairing the leaks and the damaged ceiling boards in the Mama Fatuma Children’s home as well as painting the affected areas.
REPAIR
As for the repairs, we fixed the initial cause of the leak in the girl’s room which was the upstairs boy’s toilet, we also fixed the cause of the leak in the dining hall and the prayer hall. After the repairs, we replaced all the damaged ceiling boards in the girl’s room, the dining hall and the prayer hall. The entry to the boy’s toilet was also replaced with a new floor plate with grip to prevent sliding and injury as the boys kept slipping and falling on the previous metallic floor plate.
PAINT
As for the paint part of the project, we painted the entire dining hall (ceiling and walls), both the girl’s rooms (ceiling and walls), the girl’s bathroom ceiling and the entire prayer hall (ceiling and walls)
